C.J. Gardner-Johnson isn't pulling punches after an Eagles win his revenge game

We should all know by now that anything can happen when C.J. G.J. grabs his cell phone or steps in front of a microphone.

There are so many ways we thought about beginning this theory. Here's the safest. C.J. Gardner Johnson is one of those guys you can only love if he's on your team, and there are times when he makes loving him a difficult task even if he is. No one burns a bridge like our beloved C.J. G.J., but we'll tell you this. He also brings some punch to this Philadelphia Eagles defense.

All is forgiven since he left Philly and made a few statements during the 2023 offseason. It was clear Philly had no interest in giving him an extension carrying the salary he wanted. The fallout included some bitter back and forth.

Well, C.J. was blamed for most of that on our end. He apologized after being reacquired. Fans understood. It's an emotional game and a business. Our guy even smoothed things over by deciding to rock a Number 8 jersey to honor Kobe Bryant. You can't go wrong there, right?

C.J. Gardner-Johnson pulls no punches while throwing darts at the Saints after an Eagles win.

It was never really referred as such nationally, but many viewed the Eagles' Week 3 clash with the New Orleans Saints as C.J.'s revenge game. No, it was really called that! We can't think of anything grotesque that the Saints did to him, other than trading him to a better team, but again... Football is an emotional game and a business.

Number 8 pulled no punches after Philly pulled off the hard-fought come-from-behind win. At this point, no one should be shocked by anything he says when given a platform.

Yep... That's classic C.J. Gardner-Johnson, but you know what? We love it. This was the type pf fire Philly lacked for most of the 2023-24 season.

It's hard to believe he was designated as 'questionable' before this one kicked off. He equaled the second-highest tackle total in Week 3 with eight stops. His five solo stops were also the second highest by any Eagles defender. In consecutive games, we have seen him stand up Bijan Robinson and Alvin Kamara for key stops.

If the Eagles and Saints cross paths in the NFL Playoffs, his words will be remembered (along with Jalen Carter's tirade), but again, we missed the fire last season. We wouldn't ask C.J. to be anyone other than himself.
