Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wanted to draft Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Dak's thoughts on the Trey Lance trade
Nobody stirs the pot like Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. No one loves the microphone more. No one should spend less time in front of one. His genius is unquestioned, but there's one part of good ol' Jerry's personality that Philadelphia Eagles fans all love. He has a tendency to do or say things that create unnecessary drama within his own organization. It's like watching reality television every time he is present.
Oh, how we would love to be a fly on the wall during positional meetings with the Cowboys' quarterbacks. Dak Prescott is the starter, albeit one that really needs to make something happen during the postseason. Jalen Hurts is clearly the NFC East's best quarterback. Take that Cowboys fans.
Say what you will. Everyone affiliated with Dallas knows that statement to be true. That includes the old guy that calls the shots.
Jerry Jones admits he wanted to select Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Days pass. Weeks become months. Year after year, the angst between the Eagles and Cowboys grows. Guess what? Jerry Jones found his way in front of the microphone and lit another match.
Though he didn't state Jalen's name, we all know who he is talking about. Keep a couple of things in mind here. The first is this. When Philly selected Hurts 53rd overall, during Round 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft, Dak was entering his fifth NFL season. Do we need to remind you that there were questions about whether or not he was the Cowboys' long-term answer?
The second thing to consider is this. There are clips floating around, and it appears that Dak isn't thrilled about the Trey Lance acquisition in Dallas. Naturallu, things can be taken out of context, but check this one out for yourself. You do the math.
Who would have thought? There's a bit of drama in Texas. Mike McCarthy is calling the offensive plays now. Jerry is still Jerry. We're feeling like the Birds could win the NFC East again and do so by a comfortable enough margin.
