Backup QBs the Eagles missed on who are probably better options than Fields or Pickett

The 'bring Justin Fields to Philadelphia' bandwagon is adding passengers seemingly by the minute, but should it?

Jacoby Brissett - Signing with New England Patriots

18-30 regular season record, zero postseason starts

Jacoby Brissett is the NFL's version of the 'always a bridesmaid, never a bride' theory. He was this close to allowing himself an opportunity to win a starting job in Washington for the Commanders. He stepped into a Week 15 game and played well but saw his season end with an injury.

Gosh that sucks, but it's cool. He has rejoined the Patriots.

The coaching staff has changed since his first run with the team. Brissett was drafted in 2016, one season after his current head coach hung up the cleats, but the new staff is well aware that they're getting a good pocket passer, not someone who is super athletic.

That may not have been the skill set Philly and Kellen Moore were looking for. Jacoby is, however, a master of the QB sneak, so the Brotherly Shove wouldn't have lost any steam if Jalen Hurts was out of the lineup.
