He'll probably view this is a compliment.

Fellow NFL players have strong feelings about Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson is the NFL's most annoying player

Last season, Gardner-Johnson was named the league's biggest trash-talker in a poll conducted by The Athletic. This year, he was just named the NFL's most annoying player in a new poll conducted by the outlet.

“Yap yap yap,” one NFL player said of Gardner-Johnson.

In the poll, which consisted of 110 different players who voted anonymously, Gardner-Johnson led all players with 14 votes. He was the only player to receiver double-digit votes. Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins came in second with eight votes. Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby placed third with five votes. There must be something about the Raiders.

Gardner-Johnson is one of the vocal leaders of Philly's defense, which is why the team was happy to bring him back this year after he spent the 2023 season as a member of the Detroit Lions. But, Gardner-Johnson's boisterous approach to the game clearly rubs some players the wrong way. At the end of the day though, it doesn't really matter what opponents think about you. All that matters is how you're viewed in your own locker room, and by all accounts CJGJ is well-liked by his teammates.

But, Philadelphia's defense has been questionable through four weeks, and Gardner-Johnson has been part of that. There have been some highlights, but there have also been some lapses in coverage that CJGJ has vowed to correct.

The Eagles have plenty of issues to correct as a team on both sides of the ball, which is why the bye week has come at the perfect time. Hopefully the team can use the added week to get healthy and make some necessary adjustments.

There's still plenty of time for the Eagles to salvage the season. A 2-2 start isn't the end of the world. But, it's clear that the team isn't going to go far playing like they did in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
