Eagles decision to fire defensive coordinator Sean Desai shouldn't surprise anyone

The dominoes are beginning to fall in Philly.

Change was expected following one of the worst collapses in Philadelphia Eagles history. Few believed Sean Desai would escape the chopping block. Our theories were confirmed on Sunday, shortly after kickoff of the Buffalo Bills versus Kansas City Chiefs game in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Philly is moving on from the man they hired on February 28th of 2023 to be their defensive coordinator, and they're doing so less than 11 months after hiring him.

Take a look.

Desai is expected to be in the mix for other defensive coordinator opportunities, but following Nick Sirianni's decision to take play-calling duties from him and the subsequent determination to hand those same duties to Matt Patricia, which didn't work either, this is a move that won't shock anyone.

More changes are coming. This certainly won't be the last domino to fall following a sad ending to a once-promising season. It should be interesting to see who the Eagles add as his replacement.
