Some of you read our publication often, if not daily. For that, we are truly humbled and thankful. It is a privilege to cover the game we love. It is an honor to deliver fresh Philadelphia Eagles content daily. Stories like this are why it has never felt like work. Stories like these are why we do what we do.

If you have followed us for the 15-plus years that we have done this, you know we have dedicated many hours of our time to protest an injustice. Eagles 75th Anniversary Team member Eric Allen has been ignored by Canton, Ohio's Pro Football Hall of Fame. We let you know every time he was nominated for consideration. We complained every time he was left behind in the selection process.

Two days after Christmas, we may have a mini-breakthrough. Again, this one made us smile.

Eric Allen is on the list of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class finalists for 2024.

If you're old enough to remember Buddy Ryan's Eagles, you remember Randall Cunningham and Jerome Brown. You remember Reggie White and Clyde Simmons. You remember guys like Seth Joyner.

Hmmm... We wonder what Seth is doing these days?

Anyway, you can't talk about the Eagles of that era without mentioning Eric Allen. He was every bit as talented as Deion Sanders or Rod Woodson, yet somehow, his bust isn't in Canton.

That may change. The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its finalists for the 2024 class, and our guy is on the list.he modern-era player finalists are determined by a vote of the Hall's Selection Committee, a process that began with 173 nominees announced in September. That group of nominees was trimmed to 25 semifinalists in November.

In addition to the modern-era finalists will be senior finalists Randy Gradishar, Steve McMichael and Art Powell, and contributor/coach finalist Buddy Parker.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 will be inducted during NFL Honors, which takes place at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 8, and airs on CBS, NFL Network and streams on Paramount+ and NFL+.

Modern-era player finalists have survived a voting process that began with 173 nominees that were announced in September. That group was trimmed to 25 semifinalists in November. Allen has made it to the final 15.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 will be introduced during NFL Honors. That can be watched on Thursday, February 8th at 9 p.m. EST on CBS and NFL. It can be streamed on Paramount+ and NFL+. Fingers are crossed that we'll see Eric walk the stage. It's an honor he deserves, and it has been a long time coming.
