Defense wins championships! That seems to be the Eagles motto this year.

It takes an exceptional defense to make a deep push in the playoffs. The Eagles have gone all in during the offseason to acquire the best talent to combat the high-scoring passing teams in the league, whether that be phenomenal trench warriors or talented players in the secondary.

6. Defensive line, A+

Jalen Carter is a man amongst boys. All the hype was warranted. We are looking at Aaron Donald-level talent. He is second in the league in QB pressures and has dominated on just about every snap he has taken.

Versus Tampa, Carter arguably was the best player on the field. He recorded five quarterback pressures and a combined sack with Eagle veteran Fletcher Cox as well as a quarterback hit, two tackles, and a forced fumble.

7. Cornerbacks, B+

Darius Slay has been remarkable this season. He recorded a pick-six in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. He has been steady against two good receiving corps fielded by the Vikings and Bucs.

In Week 2, Justin Jefferson had a nice showing, but the Birds still won. James Bradberry missed Week 2. His absence was noticeable, but the young guys, though clearly needing reps are improving as the days and weeks pass.
