Eagles expected to release punter Arryn Siposs per report
Sometimes, when we use words like 'GOAT', it isn't being done in a positive light. There's the 'Greatest Of All Time' acronym, and then, there are goats that you don't want to be mentioned among. Jason Kelce is a Philadelphia Eagles legend and can lay claim to being labeled as the former. Philly's punter of the past two NFL seasons, Arryn Siposs, unfortunately, lands among guys who will forever be labeled as members of the latter category.
A 2020 undrafted rookie free agent signing made by the Detroit Lions in 2020, the Australian was waived and added to Detroit's practice squad a few times. We probably should have known that he wasn't good enough to play in the NFL then. Perhaps you have noticed. The Lions typically aren't in a position where they can move on from good players.
Birds fans' memories of Siposs date back to January of 2021. That's when Philly signed him to a futures deal. He spent the 2021 and 2022 NFL seasons with the Eagles, and he had a few moments but will always be remembered for his shank jobs in a Wild Card Round playoff game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a really bad boot in Super Bowl LVII.
Don't look now, but his tenure in the City of Brotherly Love has ended. We realize that news makes some of you very happy.
JAKIB Sports mainstay Derrick Gunn reports the Eagles are releasing Arryn Siposs.
Do not adjust your computer monitors or restart your phones. This is not a drill. Yes, the Eagles are releasing Arryn Siposs... for now. JAKIB Sports mainstay Derrick Gunn was first with the news. The plan is to work out punters, and if they don't like what they see, a reunion could be in the works. Check this one out.
The expectation, obviously, is the Eagles will bring in a few guys and make decisions on someone solid. This story is developing. Bookmark this one. We'll let you know if there are any updates.
