Rumors of Jason Kelce's retirement may have been premature... maybe.

Football is an emotional game. We've known that for a while, but we've made a point to focus on such as we have introduced more ways to communicate or entertain ourselves. Just look at how the game is broadcast. We zero in on Jalen Hurts reaction after every TD pass or interception The Philadelphia Eagles lost in the Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and at game's end, we saw a lot of Jason Kelce. Remember?

Since, we watched Jason tear up on the sideline and after we watched the emotion pour out of him as he made his way to Philly's locker room, everyone has had their opinion about what his next move will be.

He reportedly informed teammates that he intends to hang the cleats up, but he never officially announced anything, until now. It appears the legend has broken his silence.

Rumors of Jason Kelce's retirement and his exit from the NFL stage may have been exaggerated.

It's called the 24-hour rule. Many have heard of it. There are, however, times when we differ on its definition. Some believe the 24-hour rule simply states we should agonize over losses and celebrate wins for about a day after thay happen. Then, we have to shake it off and move one to the next game.

Note: We realize the Eagles don't have another game that counts against the win-loss total until September now. You get the idea though. Hang in there with us. We're going somewhere.

Maybe the 24-hour rule should carry another theory. We love that immediate IG-style access, but we have to understand that, if we stick cameras and microphones in guys faces, we may hear some emotional takes. We may also see guys back off of what they have said later once they have had the time to calm down from playing a three-hour game.

We've said all of that to say this. Discussions of Jason's retirement may have been premature. On a recent episode of his New Heights podcast, one he does with his brother Travis, it appears a less-emotional Jason is still weighing his options.

There has been a sighting. The legend was recently seen hitting up a McDonalds. And, he was smiling.

There you have it. When the time is right. We'll be given an answer. As of right now, however, Jason Kelce is STILL an active NFL player, one who will again suit up for the Eagles if he determines that is indeed what he wants to do.
