Eagles vs Buccaneers: Reasonable requests, bold expectations for Philly's Wild Card Round game

We have a few requests we'd like to make of the Eagles ahead of the Wild Card Round game. Just for kicks, we threw in some bold expectations too.

While it may feel like it has been two weeks since the Philadelphia Eagles played a football game. It hasn't been that long at all though. By the time they take the field to battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it will have been eight days since these proud franchises took the field to play a football game.

The final Wild Card Round is upon us. The Eagles lost five of their final six regular-season games and are, in essence, backing into the postseason. The Bucs won five of their final six games.

This is the 23rd meeting between these two proud franchises and their sixth meeting in the postseason. The series is dead even at 11 wins apiece. Something has got to give.

Reasonable request: Pressure Baker Mayfield. We beg of you Philly!

Baker Mayfield completed 15 of 25 pass attempts the last time these two teams met. His efforts resulted in 146 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. That was his third game with the Bucs. Judging by how these two teams have conducted themselves since then, we are sure that won't be how this next game plays out for the former first-overall pick and Tampa's offense.

Baker threw for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns during the regular season. Those are career numbers in both categories. If the Eagles fail to get to him and fail to create pressure, which has been the case for the defense later in the season, it's going to be a long night and Philly may go home early.

That's one reasonable request of our Birds. Here are two more.
