Two MVP candidates will square off again, Jalen Hurts vs. Dak Prescott

Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott don't just play the game's most significant position for their respective franchises. Both are also in the running to win the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award. It's easy to make supporting arguments for both players.

Hurts is not the clear MVP this year as he was in 2022. Last season, he was a favorite to win before he suffered a shoulder injury in a December contest against the Chicago Bears. That forced him to miss two games. Both were losses. Some argue that should have strengthened his candidacy, but in the end, time missed wound up affecting his chances.

Jalen enters Week 14's game with 2,995 passing yards. He's 11th in that category. 19 passing touchdowns also ranks him 11th, but ten interceptions ties the fourth-highest total.

His 430 rushing yards trails Baltimore Ravens gunslinger Lamar Jackson for the lead among quarterbacks, but Jalen leads all quarterbacks with 12 rushing touchdowns. That also ties him with running back with 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey for the lead in that category.

Watch this one. Appreciate the beauty.

Dak Prescott has enjoyed one of his better seasons in the NFL. He enters Week 14 with 3,234 passing yards. He's ranked 5th in that category. His 26 passing touchdowns are tops in the NFL. He has also thrown six interceptions through 12 contests.

This is a true quarterback duel in every sense of the word.
