Yannick Ngakoue, EDGE

Remember that earlier comment about the Eagles always being linked to disgruntled players that want off of their current roster? We can make the argument that rumors connecting them to Yannick Ngakoue was one of the first examples we saw of that trend.

Ngakoue expressed that he'd be open to leaving the Jacksonville Jaguars to join the nest, but he wound up with the Minnesota Vikings. Since 2020, a season where he spent time with the Vikes and Baltimore Ravens, he has also landed on the Raiders' roster (2021) AND that of the Indianapolis Colts (2022). He's a benefit to any team that is looking for a situational pass rusher, but he isn't an every-down player as he is no help versus the run.

Justin Houston, EDGE

Justin Houston is an ageless wonder that, if we're being honest, still has a lot of gas in the tank. We place him slightly ahead of Melvin Ingram for a spot on this list for one very specific reason. He's 34 years old, and we keep waiting on a regression that never happens.

Honorable mention Jadeveon Clowney, EDGE

We know.. We know... Depending on the Eagles-centered circle you're hanging out in, the mere mention of Jadeveon Clowney's name could create immediate angst. He's been known to play 'dirty'. We have seen him go 'Hulk Smash' on Carson Wentz and bury his helmet into Nick Foles' chest unnecessarily.

Clowney is the anti-Yannick Ngakoue. He's overrated as a pass rusher and a solid run defender, but he's never displayed that he's worthy of being one of the game's top mercenaries. He'll be on someone's roster this season. Count on it.
