Some moments stick with us forever. We remember when they happened. We remember where we were when they happened. Sadly, some of those memories are painful, and depending on where you are in life, it's sometimes the heartbreaking occurrences that tend to stick with you longer. Nothing says 'heartbreak' like the Philadelphia Eagles' loss in Super Bowl LVII. In a flash, the greatest team we have seen assembled in this franchise's history transformed like Optimus Prime into one of the most disappointing, and whether fair or unfair, as we have moved on, we have placed the majority of the blame on two individuals, Jonathan Gannon, and Arryn Siposs.

The former leads the Arizona Cardinals now. The latter is one of two punters on the 90-man training camp roster, and most Birds fans wish he wasn't.

We won't revisit Arryn's shank job in Philly's final game of the most recent season. Frankly, we have done that enough. We won't discuss the punt return that followed, one that set the Kansas City Chiefs up with a first-and-goal situation. Again, the memories are much too painful, but what we will do is ask a question we have pondered since the Eagles cleaned out their lockers long ago in February.

This team can't bring Arryn Siposs back for another season, can they? Howard Eskin thinks they won't.

Life is about change, and as the 2023 calendar year rolls on, most Philadelphia sports fans are settling into one of the more recent changes in the City of Brotherly Love. The longtime host of The Morning Show on 94 WIP-FM, Angelo Cataldi is enjoying retirement. His replacements Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie have been doing a great job as the familiar faces in a new role.

Another longtime legend of Philly sports media, Howard Eskin, is a frequent visitor on their show. On Thursday, he made a bold claim, one Eagles Nation will be happy to hear.

They say the most popular player on an NFL roster sometimes is almost always the backup quarterback. That isn't true in Philly. Jalen Hurts is without question living his best life. There is, however, a new guy that people are whispering about... Philly's backup punter.

Ty Zentner... Arryn Siposs... Those are the two guys on the training camp roster who are expected to battle for the punter's job. During one of two OTA practice sessions that were made available to the media, Siposs looked much better, which is scary, but to a man (or a woman), there aren't many Birds fans who are hoping the Australian is the guy when the Eagles open the regular season on the road in Foxborough versus the New England Patriots on 'Tom Brady Day'.

The Arryn Siposs we have seen show up in warm-weather games isn't the worst punter we have seen. We're more concerned about the guy that shows up when the weather changes and the temperature drops. That guy isn't very good. Fingers are crossed that Howard Eskin is right in his theory about a possible new acquisition. Geez.. How long has it been since we talked about a special teamer this much?
