The home stretch is upon us. The gauntlet is underway. 11 of the Philadelphia Eagles' regular-season games are in our rearview mirror. Six remain before we begin what we hope is a postseason run that earns this franchise its second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The Birds are in the midst of the journey's toughest stretch. Wins versus the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills have added to the buzz. Next up in the journey is a home date against the San Francisco 49ers.

The talk is over for those annoying Niners. If they claim to be the NFC's top team, they'll have to take the mantle from the defending conference champions. However, despite what happens, Philly will still own the best record in football.

A win will aid the Eagles in accomplishing their first goal, assuring themselves of a playoff berth, bt as of now they still need help if they're to successfully punch their ticket.

Here are the NFL Playoff clinching scenarios for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13.

Okay, here we go. Philly can earn a playoff berth four different ways. Here they are. Buckle up. We'll be watching a lot of football this weekend.

1. Eagles win and Rams loss or tie

If Philly beats the 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams lose at home versus the Cleveland Browns, the Birds are in. That sounds simple enough. This is the simplest way for the Eagles to qualify for postseason contention in Week 13.

2. Eagles win and Lions loss and Packers loss or tie

If the Eagles win and the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers both lose, Philly punches its ticket. Detroit visits the New Orleans Saints at 1 pm EST on Sunday. The Packers host the Kansas City Chiefs a little later in the afternoon at 4:25 pm EST.

3. Eagles win and Rams loss + Packers loss or tie + Saints loss or tie

An Eagles tie, a Rams loss, and losses or ties by both the Packers and Saints get Philly to the postseason. That's a mouthful, but it's also very possible that all four scenarios happen.

4. Eagles tie and Rams loss + Packers loss or tie + Falcons loss or tie

This might be the most unlikely of scenarios. It's hard to imagine Philly and San Fran's game ending in a tie, but hey, stranger things have happened.

If The Eagles tie with the 49ers, they also need the Rams to lose, AND they would still need losses or ties by the Packers and Falcons.

Let's make long stories shorter. The Philadelphia Eagles need to keep winning. The rest will take care of itself... eventually.

As mentioned earlier, if Philly loses to San Francisco, the Birds still own the best record in the NFC with only two losses. Still, we'd rather not see the 49ers take ownership of a tie-breaker over the Eagles. That may come in handy when we begin discussing playoff seating later.
