Things are tightening as we settle into December. Here's the skinny. Five games remain on the schedule. The Philadelphia Eagles tackle their top threat to winning the NFC East's crown in Week 14. Yes, it's time to play the Dallas Cowboys again.

In every locker room, similar conversations are occurring except for those belonging to the bottom-feeders, 'Earn a postseason berth, and anything is possible. Get to the Super Bowl, and win it'. Then again, the Eagles began thinking that last February.

It's too early to be stressed. It's too late to be casual. Philly's next step toward winning another Lombardi Trophy will be taken come Sunday.

Winning draws them closer to punching their ticket to the postseason. They'll need some help though. Buckle up. Let's discuss specifics.

Here are the NFL Playoff clinching scenarios for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13.

First things first for our Eagles. Goal number one has to be beating the Dallas Cowboys. We'll be watching five other games as well though.

There are ten scenarios that, if played out, will send Philadelphia to the playoffs. Consider this an early rooting guide.

1. Eagles win AND a Seahawks loss

This might be one of the most likely scenarios considering what we witnessed last week. The Seattle Seahawks travel to meet the San Francisco 49ers. An Eagles win and a Hawks loss punches Philly's ticket.

2. Eagles win AND a Rams loss or tie

Here's another likely scenario. The L.A. Rams have caught fire, but this week, they tackle the Baltimore Ravens. If Philly wins and L.A. loses, the Eagles are postseason bound.

3. Eagles win, Packers loss or tie & Vikings loss or tie

The Minnesota Vikings visit Sin City to tackle the Las Vegas Raiders. The Green Bay Packers face the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. As hard as this is to believe, we want a Giants win here.

4. Eagles win, Packers loss or tie, Lions loss

Welcome to the Detroit Lions section of this conversation. The NFC North's leaders travel to meet the Chicago Bears. If they lose, an Eagles win coupled with a Packers loss or tie sends Philly to the playoffs.

5. Eagles win, Rams loss, & Seahawks loss

We know this is all a lot to take in. Here's a fairly simple scenario. We want the Eagles to win, and we want losses by the Rams and Seahawks. Seems simple enough.

6. Eagles tie, Rams loss & Vikings loss or tie

Another realistic scenario... An Eagles win, a Rams loss, and a Vikings loss or tie sends the Eagles to the postseason. Again, that sounds easy enough.

7. Eagles tie, Rams loss & Packers loss or tie

An Eagles win coupled with a Rams loss and a Packers loss or tie will send the Birds to the playoffs. Guess what? Again, all of that is possible.

8. Eagles tie, Seahawks loss & Vikings loss or tie

An Eagles tie wouldn't disqualify the Birds from earning themselves a postseason berth. There are actually three ways that theycan get in if it happens. This is the first.

They finish Week 14's clash with Dallas with said tie. The Seahawks would then have to lose, and the Vikings would have to lose or tie.

9. Eagles tie, Seahawks loss & Packers loss or tie

Simply put, an Eagles tie would also also earn the Birds a postseason berth if the Seahawks lose and the Packers lose or end their game in a tie.

10. Eagles tie, Vikings loss & Packers loss

Last but certainly not least, we leave you with this little nugget. If the Eagles and Cowboys end their clash in a tie. They punch their ticket to the postseason if the Vikings and Packers both lose.

As stated earlier, be sure you tune in to watch our Birds bash the Cowboys, but keep watch on the teams mentioned above as well. Philly controls their own destiny still, but to punch their ticket to the postseason in Week 14, they still need a little help.
