NFL standings ordered by total offense: Eagles must gain some traction after bye

Here's a positive as we wade through this bye week. The Eagles are moving the ball on offense exceptionally well.

This wasn't supposed to be how it was. This isn't how we were supposed to feel. Four weeks into the season, we're wrecked emotionally. We're trying to be positive, but there are times when we don't believe what we're thinking, and as much as we love them, we're disappointed in our Philadelphia Eagles.

If memory serves, we predicted a 13-win season, one with only four losses. If that were to occur, Philly would need to post an 11-2 record the rest of the way.

That's a difficult ask, but it isn't impossible. We've seen runs under Nick Sirianni before. Last season, Philly didn't notch their first and second losses until October 15th and December 3rd. That was Week 6 and Week 13.

In 2022, losses one and two occurred on November 14th and Christmas Eve. That's Week 10 and Week 16 if you're keeping score, and here's the thing. This team is just as talented as both of those.

Sure, we expected a 4-0 start. Okay, that didn't happen. We'll adjust. It won't be easy, but we believe in this team, even now.

Ranking the Eagles vs. the other 31 NFL teams using total offense as the metric.

If the NFL Playoffs began today, the Eagles would be on the outside and looking in. The Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, and Seattle Seahawks would all be the division winners. The Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons would be the Wild Card Teams.

The Eagles are currently the ninth in the NFC in terms of standings. Two in-conference losses to the Falcons and Bucs are a huge reason why. Don't give up yet. 13 games remain.

If you're looking for silver linings, we've got you covered. Though tunrovers have plagued the Birds, they've been able to move the ball. Here's how things look when we rank all 32 teams based off of total offense (yards gained from scrimmage). The four members of the NFC East have been highlighted.

  1. Baltimore Ravens
  2. San Francisco 49ers
  3. Green Bay Packers
  4. Detroit Lions
  5. Seattle Seahawks
  6. Washington Commanders
  7. Philadelphia Eagles
  8. Houston Texans
  9. New Orleans Saints
  10. Minnesota Vikings
  11. Cincinnati Bengals
  12. Arizona Cardinals
  13. Dallas Cowboys
  14. Kansas City Chiefs
  15. Indianapolis Colts
  16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  17. Pittsburgh Steelers
  18. Los Angeles Rams
  19. Atlanta Falcons
  20. Buffalo Bills
  21. New York Giants
  22. New York Jets
  23. Carolina Panthers
  24. Las Vegas Raiders
  25. Jacksonville Jaguars
  26. Miami Dolphins
  27. Denver Broncos
  28. Los Angeles Chargers
  29. Tennessee Titans
  30. Chicago Bears
  31. Cleveland Browns
  32. New England Patriots

Make those adjustments. Take care of the football. Take this one game at a time.

There are a few things Philly can hang their hats on. This team can still be special if the breaks begin going their way instead of breaking their rhythm. If they gain some traction, the wins will pile up.
