The Eagles could look at adding to their running back room

Cam Akers, RB

It might sound funny calling running back a need, still, after the Eagles went out and signed Saquon Barkley in free agency. However, the back field still needs to be filled out. At the moment, it's Saquon and Kenneth Gainwell.

The Eagles could look at a former second-round pick in J.K. Dobbins, who hasn't exactly had the type of start to his career he would have liked. At this point, he might have to accept the fact that he'll be a complimentary back rather than taking a lead role. But, if he's willing to take on that responsibility, Dobbins could not only extend his career but prove to be worth significant playing time.

Having dealt with multiple serious injuries to begin his career, Dobbins is still only 25 years old. He's an explosive back who can catch the football as well, and with not a lot of pressure on him to perform, Philly could be a great spot for him to land.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB

What a story this would be. The Eagles already signed a big name NFC East back in Saquon, so why not bring in the other one this team has played against for a few years now? Last season, Ezekiel Elliott signed in New England, but of course played the first seven seasons of his career in Dallas. The Eagles know this guy well.

And, as a complimentary back and someone who can also catch the football, Elliott could be a valuable addition. He feels more like the type of player you sign if you're going to make a title run and want someone with a lot of experience, but also someone who isn't going to be the reason you lose games. You can still count on Zeke.
