D'Andre Swift, running back

This is a talented backfield the Eagles employ. They lost Miles Sanders during the most recent offseason after the best regular season of his career, one that landed him in the Pro Bowl. Vice president/general manager Howie Roseman rolled up his sleeves and went to work, and now, this unit might be better.

D'Andre Swift was added via a draft-day trade. He has one year remaining on his rookie deal, one he signed with the Detroit Lions in 2020.

Rashaad Penny, running back

They say availability is a skill in the NFL. Most would agree with that. Unfortunately for Rashaad Penny, he hasn't proved that's a skill he possesses. Then again, Swift hasn't conquered a full NFL season either.

Both will enjoy a nice workload in Philly's offense. Fingers are crossed that this also means Jalen Hurts will run less often and be taken out of harm's way.

It's year four for Swift. This is year six for Rashaad Penny. The latter has only appeared in more than ten games during three of his first five seasons. He has never completed a full season.

Still, we believe both will benefit from Philadelphia's committee system. Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott will provide these guys with breaks, but we're going to be talking about Swift and Penny a lot. They will be welcomed additions to what was already a powerful offense.
