2 reasons to be excited about the Eagles decision to add Myles Jack and Zach Cuningham
Myles Jack and Zach Cunningham add veteran depth to a linebacker corps that was lacking in that area.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding Nakobe Dean. Some have expressed concern that there haven't been any 'wow plays' during Philly's training camp practices, but the second-year star has the support of his coaches.
Nicholas Morrow was a free-agent acquisition, but he hasn't been impressive either. He has been inconsistent while working with the first-team defense.
Injuries are one thing. Lack of production is another, but nothing is more concerning than a lack of depth, especially when the corps is void of veterans, Myles Jack and Zach Cunningham provide that. Prior to their arrival, Philly had bodies, but they didn't have very many answers.
Dean and Morrow were the top two guys on the depth chart. They were followed by Shaun Bradley, Christian Elliss, Kyron Johnson, Patrick Johnson, and Ben VanSumeren as their backups. Again, Haason Reddick and Nolan Smith are listed as linebackers, but neither plays a traditional linebacker role.
Myles Jack and Zach Cunningham both signed one-year deals last week, and Howie didn't break the bank by acquiring them. Both have the potential to make up to $2.5 million each.
