Seven more days trickle off the calendar. The Philadelphia Eagles enjoyed a bye in Week 10, but now, it's time to return to work. They should be pretty happy when they peruse the current NFL standings to see everyone's current state of affairs. As it turns out, the National Football Conference is mostly in the same shape that it was in the last time they saw it.

The NFC's division leaders haven't changed. We haven't shuffled the current Wild Card teams either. Now, things are getting serious. More than half of the regular season is in our rear-view mirrors.

Guess what? The Birds return to play the AFC's top team in Week 11, the Kansas City Chiefs. Meanwhile, some talented squads are looking up at them while simultaneously nipping at their heels.

The Dallas Cowboys are their top threat to win the NFC East. They're also possibly one of the biggest threats rob them of the top seed in the playoffs and eliminate Philly's first-round bye.

Here are your current playoff standings in the National Football Conference after Week 10.

Has anyone else noticed that the Lions have won two straight and are now the owners of the second-best record in the conference? If they can somehow win home-field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs, they'll be a tough out at Ford Field.

Here are the teams that would qualify for postseason play had the NFL season ended after Week 10.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1)*
2. Detroit Lions (7-2)*
3. San Francisco 49ers (6-3)*
4. New Orleans Saints (5-5)*
5. Seattle Seahawks (6-3)
6. Dallas Cowboys (6-3)
7. Minnesota Vikings (6-4)

The Birds play the Niners, Cowboys, and Seahawks before the season's end. Those games figure to play a large role in telling Philly's tale.

The Hawks always give Philly problems. The Niners look unstoppable when healthy. We all know about the struggles the Eagles have faced when visiting AT&T Stadium.

Buckle up. There's a lot of football left to play. The Eagles schedule won't get any easier.
