A wide receiver in the NFL Draft is going to call the Philadelphia Eagles their new team, as it is more about which round they are going to be drafted in.
The Eagles have been attached to trade talks involving A.J. Brown, so that is going to leave a gap in the depth chart for a rookie to come in, develop, and be the next long-term WR2 for the team. Philly has been predicted to pick a receiver anywhere between the first round and Day 3.
ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler reported that Ole Miss wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling will be visiting with multiple teams, including the Eagles. Stribling is coming off back-to-back years with over 800 yards and six touchdowns.
De'Zhaun Stribling is meeting with the Eagles before the draft
Looking at Stribling, he's built to develop into a WR2 in the NFL. At 6-foot-2, he ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash during his offseason workouts.
DeVonta Smith is presumed to be the number one receiver on this team in the future if Brown departs from the franchise via trade. That would leave Marquise "Hollywood" Brown as the most likely WR2 in 2026, with Elijah Moore, Darius Cooper, and Johnny Wilson competing for roster spots.
Adding a receiver like Stribling means the Eagles see him as a future number two receiver who can complement Smith well. Philly could use Stribling as the deep threat receiver to go down the field with, while Smith can do a little bit of everything for them. For 2026, Marquise Brown will be the deep threat receiver in the offense.

The Eagles, despite potentially losing out on some of the top receivers, will still have plenty of options to pick from in the draft, leaving Stribling as one of the more intriguing choices.
