Now that rosters are finalized, the focus shifts to the Philadelphia Eagles' regular season as they get ready to pursue a third Super Bowl appearance since the 2022 campaign.
Expectations remain high for the Eagles, since the team has made the playoffs every year since 2021. Their roster is stacked with a strong defense and an offense with a ton of potential.

Predicting Eagles' first five games of the 2026 season
Week 1 - vs. Washington Commanders (September 13 at 4:25 pm EST)
NFC East games are never easy for the Eagles, so losing a few division games a year is not a major surprise for Philly. The Commanders have key injuries on the offensive line and in the secondary, but quarterback Jayden Daniels is back to being 100% healthy. The Eagles are typically a very slow-starting team each season, so don't be surprised if the offense doesn't start slowly and play well in the opener. This might not end the way Eagles fans would like.
Prediction: Commanders 24, Eagles 20 (Record: 0-1)
Week 2 - at Tennessee Titans (September 20 at 1:00 pm EST)
The Titans are such a wild-card team because a Robert Saleh-led team will have a great defense, but who knows if Cam Ward will play. Philly's defense could feast in this game, and the offense can hopefully get into a rhythm. Watch the Eagles lean more on Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby to carry the load and lead the Eagles to a win.
Prediction: Eagles 27, Titans 17 (Record: 1-1)
Week 3 - at Chicago Bears (September 28 at 8:15 pm EST)
Chicago's defense is not in a great spot right now: their pass rush is one of the worst in the NFL, and the secondary has two starters potentially out for this game. This might be the Jalen Hurts coming-out-party game, as this will be a battle to the very end, but the Eagles' offense comes alive and carries them to a massive win and revenge on the Bears for last year's embarrassing Black Friday loss.
Prediction: Eagles 31, Bears 26 (Record: 2-1)
Week 4 - vs. Los Angeles Rams (October 4 at 1:00 pm EST)
Myles Garrett and now Aaron Donald are on the opposite side. As good an offensive line as the Eagles have, this is a nightmare, since Donald should be in game shape by this contest, and Garrett could be chasing an NFL sack record again. This Rams offense is pretty good with 2025 MVP Matthew Stafford running the show. Eagles fans are ready for the L in this game and to move on with their lives.
Prediction: Rams 28, Eagles 17 (Record: 2-2)

Week 5 - at Jacksonville Jaguars (London) (October 11 at 9:30 am EST)
Jacksonville is similar to the Titans in that no one really knows what to think of them, but it still may not be the easiest game, especially since it's in London. The Eagles are still the more talented team on paper, so this could be another great game for Hurts and the offense. A win over the Jaguars should be expected, with a few turnovers created (maybe Quinyon Mitchell's first pick happens?).
Prediction: Eagles 34, Jaguars 21 (Record: 3-2)
