Five players on the Eagles roster could be ones for whom disappointing seasons are about to hit hard in 2026 if fans aren't prepared for it. Here is a look at players who, while overall good, could have a disappointing 2026 season for several reasons.
Which Eagles could have disappointing seasons for the team in 2026?
Makai Lemon, WR
Lemon missed a lot of training camp with the hamstring injury and struggled in his preseason debut against the Cincinnati Bengals. He might become a great receiver in the NFL, but he'll need more time to learn the league. Watch for Lemon to potentially catch on late in the season, but his numbers may not be as great, especially if guys like Dontayvion Wicks and Darius Cooper get more targets since they have the trust built with Jalen Hurts.
Eli Stowers, TE
Stowers has struggled all spring and summer with the Eagles. The reality is that he won't be an impact player like most fans hoped. It's too bad since he has the talent to do it, but he needs another year to develop, so his numbers won't look great in 2026.
Marcus Epps, S
Epps was solid late last season when he filled in for Andrew Mukuba after he got hurt, but he still was not 100% great. In training camp, it definitely felt like Michael Carter II made more plays than Epps did. A change at safety is definitely on the table if Epps' performance is as uneven as it was last season.
Riq Woolen, CB
Woolen might end up having a great season, but the inconsistencies in his play showed up big time in training camp. There were days when he was fantastic, but there were also way too many days where he struggled at camp. It shouldn't be as uneven a season as it was last year for the Eagles at CB2, but there are going to be some difficulties with Woolen that Eagles fans might have to deal with.

Jonathan Greenard, EDGE
Greenard is bound to get off to a slow start to the 2026 season since he did not practice at all in training camp. The pectoral injury concerns will have every Eagles fan wondering how effective he will be. He might pick it up late in the season, but things don't seem to go as well for Greenard; plus Jalyx Hurts might get more opportunities to pad the stats if the focus is on slowing down Greenard.
