There's a chance the Philadelphia Eagles could be active before the 2026 NFL Draft, as they already proved that with making a trade with the Green Bay Packers for wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks.
That might not be the end of the Eagles' trades, though, as a new trade idea has popped up that could have more of a fantasy football impact than an on-field one. Sports Illustrated's Michael Fabiano shared a trade idea in which the Eagles acquire San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Bandon Aiyuk.
"We haven’t heard much about Aiyuk of late, but we do know he won’t be back in San Francisco. If the Eagles do, in fact, deal Brown, then adding a player such as Aiyuk on the cheap would be a move worth making in both real and fantasy football terms. He wouldn’t put a huge dent into Smith’s fantasy stock, and playing in Philadelphia would allow Aiyuk to get back some of the fantasy appeal that he has lost over the past year-plus."
Should the Eagles really trade for Brandon Aiyuk?
When Aiyuk has been on the field, he has been as good as it gets for the 49ers, as he has had 1,000-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023. After being selected to the second-team All-Pro team in 2023, though, the wheels fell off for him.
In 2024, he tore his ACL and MCL as he only played seven games before missing the rest of the season. Last year was not a good one for Aiyuk, as he didn't play at all while recovering from an injury, and his guaranteed money for 2026 was voided for not participating with the team.
There have been some issues in San Francisco over the last year for Aiyuk, as it appears that no NFL teams want to even touch that situation. The Eagles would be wise to do the same.
They don't need Aiyuk even if A.J. Brown ends up getting traded. The Eagles have DeVonta Smith, Wicks, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, Elijah Moore, Johnny Wilson, and Darius Cooper, so there's no reason to take a chance on a receiver who hasn't played in over a year and has character questions.

Eagles fans have dealt with enough drama as is with A.J. Brown, and the last thing they need is Aiyuk joining the team. Sure, he would be great for fantasy for a short time, but the Eagles are better off just not dealing with that.
