Saquon Barkley has an increasingly likely path to join exclusive 2000-yard club
Well, that was a dogfight! The Philadelphia Eagles, after scoring first-quarter points in Weeks 9-10, morphed back into the Birds we saw during most of the early portions of the regular season. Another slow start and missed field goals were the big takeaways early. That was before we escaped a scare when we thought Jalen Hurts had suffered a concussion.
Jalen returned. Philly was much better in the second half of Week 11's first game than in the first 30 minutes. Saquon Barkley eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the sixth time in Philly's first ten games and also exceeded 1,000 yards rushing on the season.
He walked out of this one with 146 yards rushing on 26 carries. He leads all NFL running backs in rushing yards and yards from scrimmage. We'll keep one eye on what Derrick Henry does vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
We'll keep the other eye on history. Saquon has a chance to join one of the NFL's most exclusive clubs.
Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is on pace to join the NFL's 2,000-yard club.
For 105 years, NFL football has been played. Only eight man can say they are members of the 2,000-yard club.

When Philly buckles the chin straps to tackle the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12 on Sunday Night Football, they'll do so with an 8-2 record. Saquon Barkley will have 1,137 rushing yards in his back pocket with eight rushing TDs. He has also caught 23 passes for 210 yards and has reached the end zone twice as a receiver
We fear the possibility of Philly overutilizing him in their offense, but how can you not give him the ball? He's also on pace to exceed over 300 carries. You want him fresh for the postseason, but you also want to ride the hot hand, right?
