There won't be a lot of tears coming down in Philadelphia after the latest shocking news came in, but it might dramatically affect the offensive coordinator search.

The Buffalo Bills decided to pull the plug on head coach Sean McDermott, firing him after nine seasons as the head coach. Buffalo's reasoning for doing that was that McDermott yet again missed out on making the Super Bowl.

This news might be bad for the Eagles, as the Bills now look for a new head coach, and one of the main candidates is expected to be someone Philly wants. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that one name being mentioned by NFL executives as a potential next Bills head coach is former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

Eagles might end up losing out on Brian Daboll

Daboll is the perfect offensive coordinator for the Eagles as he makes all the sense in the world. His previous relationships with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley would help Philly land the offensive coordinator they needed last year, when Kevin Patullo was running the offense.

The problem now is that Daboll makes sense to be the head coach of the Bills as well. He was previously the offensive coordinator early in Josh Allen's career in Buffalo, so having that connection might make it easier for Allen to make the transition to a new head coach for the first time in his NFL career.

This might leave the Eagles in a tough situation as they search for the new offensive coordinator. Their top candidates, Mike McDaniel and Daboll, might both land head coaching jobs. That could leave Philly in a position where they would have to settle for the third- or fourth-best option.

After this news on McDermott, nothing is guaranteed anymore, and this search is going to take a long time to get done for the Eagles.
