Seems like Nick Sirianni doesn't have anything to worry about from his Eagles boss

His job is secure.

This offseason, the narrative around the Philadelphia Eagles was that head coach Nick Sirianni is on the hot seat after all the drama from last season.

It seemed odd, since Sirianni had never missed the playoffs in his five years as a head coach and had won one of the two Super Bowls he had appeared in. Sirianni's boss, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, seems to be happy with his coach's performance.

"I feel great," Lurie said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "His performance has been nothing short of outstanding, one of the best — first, what, five years in the history of the NFL? Two Super Bowls in the three years, one of which we won, one of which we were taken away from us. ...Incredible leadership. But authenticity is huge in my world and in the players' world. Nobody's perfect. I'm far from it. You guys are far from it. It's about authenticity, leadership, understanding when you should delegate, when you shouldn't delegate, how to lead a team through the ups and downs. We're the only team to repeat as division champions. No one else was even able to do it. ...It was disappointing not to win the Super Bowl again, hell yeah. I mean, nobody is hurt more by it than myself and our group. But be realistic: The guy's done a great job."

Everyone talks about the Eagles' high standards, and that's very true. There is a different atmosphere in Philly, where winning is all that matters, and the moment you lose, a job could be lost.

It's hard to say that about Sirianni, though, as he has not given the Eagles a reason to fire him. 9-8 is the worst record he has had in his coaching career, and that was his first season, and still took the team to the playoffs with a young second-year quarterback in Jalen Hurts.

For some reason, there is a hatred of Sirianni that Eagles fans will never understand. Most fans don't like how loud he gets when they win, but for someone who has won nearly 70% of his games and has a postseason winning record, Sirianni has more than earned the right to act however he wants.

Those on the outside will continue to create whatever narrative they want to about Sirianni, but he appears to be the Eagles' head coach for a long time.
