Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee is starting to see a market again for him, after being traded for the second straight offseason.

The New York Jets have been rumored to be interested in McKee, and a deal could get done. Philly would have to consider other options in the 2026 NFL Draft to replace McKee if this is the case. One NFL Combine performance was impressive to the point of making a McKee trade more of a reality.

Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green needed to have a good combine workout going into it, and he's definitely got a lot more attention on him now after what he did. Green broke quarterback combine records with a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, a 43.5" vertical, and an 11'2" broad jump.

Taylen Green is an intriguing backup option for the Eagles

Green was a four-year starter in college, with two years at Boise State and the last two at Arkansas. He finished his college career with 9,662 passing yards and 59 touchdowns to 35 interceptions, adding 2,403 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns on the ground.

The biggest knocks on Green are accuracy and decision-making on the field. There were times during the combine when the accuracy issues were noticeable, with passes being too high or outside, but the arm strength was fully on display and looked good.

Philly might not be actively looking for a quarterback, but if they end up trading McKee, they will need a new backup. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is known for wanting his team to be a "quarterback factory," so he isn't afraid to select one in any round.

Green is projected to be a Day 3 selection in the draft. That would leave the Eagles to decide on whether they want to take a chance on him in the fourth or fifth round. His combined performance might have helped him get in the fourth round, so the Eagles might have to act quickly.

The Eagles have other needs to take care of in the first two days, but if Green is available to select on Day 3, they should take a chance on him.
