When Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby first arrived in the city after being traded at the conclusion of Week 1, it did not go well for him on special teams, but all of a sudden, he became an offensive weapon.

In 16 games with the Eagles, Bigsby rushed for 344 yards and two touchdowns, averaging a staggering 5.9 yards per carry. It was clear that he was dangerous with the ball, but he just didn't get enough reps.

Going into his second season with the Eagles, Bigsby is looking to do some big things and wants to feel good in the process. He took to Instagram to announce that he is changing his jersey number from 37 to number eight with the caption reading, "No comment....."

Tank Bigsby's new number should unleash him in 2026

The expectations for Bigsby are higher going into the 2026 season, as Eagles fans know how good and efficient he is with the ball in his hands. All of last season, everyone was screaming at former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to get Bigsby more involved in the offense instead of giving all the carries to Saquon Barkley.

Philly's running back room will look a bit different with Barkley and Bigsby still expected to be the top two, and Will Shipley will be back as well. Their new running back, Dameon Pierce, will bring some competition to the running backs as he replaces the roster spot that belonged to A.J. Dillon last season.

Bigsby is deceptively speedy and elusive, as he can make some big plays in the Eagles' offense. With Sean Mannion taking over as the new offensive coordinator, Bigsby should see his role change and really help out the unit in 2026.
