Once the 2026 NFL schedule came out for the Philadelphia Eagles, there are some favorable games for them, but it won't be as easy as they think.
They have some early-season tests to handle and a late-season four-game run that will be the most difficult for them to face. Some experts actually like what the Eagles have on the calendar for the year.
That doesn't mean the challenges aren't there for them all year. Here's a look at the five toughest games on the Eagles' calendar going into the 2026 season.
Week 1 vs. Washington Commanders
Washington is finally going to be healthy for the Eagles after the two teams waited until Week 16 last year to play each other. The Week 18 game doesn't really count since the Eagles benched their starters, so this first game will be a good indicator of where Philly is with a new offensive play caller and overall as a team. The Commanders have Jayden Daniels back, so it won't be easy, but a win would give the Eagles the significant momentum they desperately need.
Week 3 at Chicago Bears (MNF)
The Bears embarrassed the Eagles last year on Black Friday in front of the home crowd, so they get a chance to return the favor on Monday night this year. Chicago has one of the top young offenses in the NFL with quarterback Caleb Williams and head coach offensive genius Ben Johnson leading the way. Philly needs momentum early in the season, and taking down a team that went 11-6 last year would go a long way.
Week 12 at Dallas Cowboys (Thanksgiving)
NFC East divisional games are always tough, but the Eagles seem to always somehow split the season series with the Cowboys. The last time Philly played in Dallas, in November, they blew a 21-point lead and lost 24-21. This Cowboys offense is one of the best in the NFL, and if the Eagles want to take control and potentially win the division early, they'd better get it done on Thanksgiving on a short week.
Week 15 vs. Seattle Seahawks (Saturday)
It's never easy to play the defending Super Bowl champions, but to do it on a short week is even more of a nightmare for the Eagles. At least they get to be home for the game, which is a big advantage. If the Eagles want to solidify themselves as one of the best in the NFL, they have to take down the best there is.

Week 17 at San Francisco 49ers (SNF)
It's been documented that players at Levi's Stadium are more likely to get hurt, which already gives the Eagles an advantage. This is a revenge game for the Eagles after losing to the 49ers in the playoffs last year, but one that could have significant postseason implications for both teams. At this point in the season, Philly fans will know if this Eagles team is for real or just pretenders, even if the playoffs and/or division are in their favor.
