It's a new season as OTAs are about to begin for the Philadelphia Eagles after finishing the 2025 campaign with an 11-6 record.
Now, in 2026, the Eagles have added some young talent but still have most of the same starters from last season. Even though most of the starters have returned, that doesn't mean they are 100% safe in their jobs heading into OTAs.
There are three players on the Eagles who could go from being a starter in 2025 to warming up the bench in 2026. Which one of those 2025 starters won't be happy going into the 2026 season?
Tyler Steen, RG
If the Eagles decide not to bring in another offensive lineman, then Steen should be good to start in 2026. Last year, Steen wasn't bad, but he also wasn't great, leaving the door open for someone like Mekhi Becton to be brought back to compete for the right guard job. Don't sleep on rookie Micah Morris being competitive for the right guard job as well, so Steen isn't guaranteed to keep his job going into OTAs.
Dallas Goedert, TE
Goedert might be able to hold his job, but his playing time will no doubt be reduced with the Eagles selecting Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers in the second round of the draft. Stowers is more athletically gifted than Goedert and can be a more efficient pass catcher to the point that Stowers might actually be able to play some wide receiver. There's a chance that Stowers could outplay Goedert and end up taking his job.

Nolan Smith Jr., EDGE
Not including the off-field legal issues, Smith got outplayed by Jalyx Hunt last season. Hunt is more versatile in the fact that he can drop back into coverage while also rushing the passer, while Smith is more of just a pass rusher. There's a chance Smith doesn't start at all, and Hunt takes over.
