The Philadelphia Eagles capped off their third consecutive 11-plus win season just a few days ago. Now, it's time for some much-deserving awards to start flowing in for the players.
On Wednesday, the NFL Players Association released their All-Pro team. The roster is comprised of votes by the players' peers. Inclusion is awarded to the league's top players. Saquon Barkley and Jalen Carter were the Eagles players selected.
The more recognizable All-Pro teams are released by the Associated Press. They dropped this past Friday, and the Birds sported six (!!!) players between the First and Second Teams -- the most of any NFL team in the league. Check out who made the cut:
Saquon Barkley - First Team
By no surprise, all-world running back Saquon Barkley was voted on the roster as a First-team All-Pro. He received 48 of 50 first-place votes.
Barkley appeared in 16 games and rushed for 2,005 yards. He scored 13 touchdowns and finished just 101 yards short of Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing yards record while cashing in on $750,000 in bonuses.
Zack Baun - First Team
Linebacker Zack Baun was also voted to the first team, finishing first among all linebackers in the NFL.
Baun found his footing with the Eagles this season after spending four seasons with the Saints. He finished with 93 solo tackles (3rd in NFL) along with five forced fumbles (2nd in NFL).
"Highly impressive," Eagles HC Nick Sirianni said of Baun during a Friday afternoon chat with the Philly media, "I think what you see with Zach is a guy that is tough, physical, and loves football... Those guys that love [football], have a great work ethic.. those guys usually have an opportunity to reach their ceiling."
A.J. Brown -Second Team
On the offensive side, the Eagles had three second-team selections with two coming on the offensive line.
A.J. Brown was named to the All-Pro second-team for the third consecutive season. Brown had 1,079 receiving yards on 67 receptions, adding seven touchdowns in just 13 games played.
All three of the wide receivers selected to be on the second-team came out of the NFC East. Washington Commanders wideout Terry McLaurin and Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb rounded out the second-team receiving corps.
Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson -Second Team
Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson were the two offensive tackles selected to be second-team All Pros.
Mailata sported a 95.8 overall grade from Pro Football Focus in the regular season. That ranks first among all NFL tackles. He had a 91.7 pass block grade (2nd in NFL) and 94.9 run block grade (1st in NFL), allowing just one sack in 801 snaps played.
Mailata's numbers are otherworldly -- there's a real argument to be had about why he wasn't named to the first team.
Johnson also had elite PFF grades in the regular season, a 85.4 overall grade (7th in NFL among tackles), 88.1 pass block grade (6th in NFL), and 80 run block grade (12th in NFL).
"[Lane Johnson] is the best offensive lineman in the world," Sirianni said on Friday, "I have no doubt about that."
Jalen Carter - Second Team
This one made us smile. Jalen Carter truly came into his own and displayed the game-wrecking ability the Eagles hoped he would. He was the lone Eagle defender voted on as a Second-Team member.
Carter finished first among all defensive lineman in forced fumbles, showcasing more elite PFF grades (a common trend among Eagles players) -- an 81.5 pass rush grade, ranked seventh of all defensive lineman.
