Troy Aikman just piled on Eagles fans' frustration with Jake Elliott

How could he miss that???

The Philadelphia Eagles did not get off to a good start at all in the Week 14 Monday Night Football showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers, and how the half ended was even worse.

Eagles cornerback Adoree' Jackson nabbed his first interception of the season to set Philly up with an easy field goal for kicker Jake Elliott. From 48 yards out, Elliott ended up missing to the right of the screen, which left the Eagles with a 10-6 halftime deficit after the miss.

ESPN commentator Troy Aikman made a comment that all Eagles can 100% agree with.

"Well, I mentioned how demoralizing it would've been if they didn't come away with a touchdown, and now it's even exacerbated the fact they couldn't come away with the three points after the turnover."

Just another thing to add to the list of frustrations with Elliott

Since last year, Elliott has not been the same kicker. He went 1-of-7 from 50+ yards last year, and while 2025 hasn't been bad, it hasn't been a good few weeks for him.

In the 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12, Elliott missed a field goal in the fourth quarter that could have given the Eagles momentum. The Cowboys scored a touchdown three plays later.

Elliott also had a field goal miss in the Chicago Bears game. This miss in the Chargers game would make it three straight weeks of misses.

Going into the Chargers game, Elliott had made 12 of 16 field goals and converted 30 of 31 extra points. He has made 75% of his field goals, and three of those missed were from 50+ yards.

While some Eagles fans may not think too much about it, at some point a conversation will be had about bringing in competition for Elliott, as he is not the same kicker he was just two years ago.
