Dave:
It’s unlikely to think that Cincinnati anticipated Auburn outside linebacker Dee Ford as being available at the twenty-fourth pick, given the Packers and Eagles pick before and could use him. Their loss is the Bengals’ gain, and defensive coordinator Paul Guenther gets another toy for the toolbox in the form of this year’s Senior Bowl MVP. Ford had 10.5 sacks in 2013 (including two in the National Championship) and starts from day one.

Giorgos:
Dee Ford might not be the best fit for the Bengals, but he is versatile enough to play in every scheme. Either as an 3-4 outside linebacker, a 4-3 defensive end or a hybrid pass rusher, Ford knows how to get to the quarterback better than most of pass rushers in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Bengals could plug him in at defensive end or an outside pass rusher in “under” and “over” fronts. Ford’s strongest points are his great athleticism and a variety of pass rushing moves.
