16. Dallas Cowboys
Kony Ealy
Defensive End, Missouri
Previously: Calvin Pryor (Safety, Louisville)
Giorgos:
The Dallas Cowboys need to add a pass rusher early in the draft, after losing DeMarcus Ware and with Anthony Spencer still a free agent. Kony Ealy is an experienced edge rusher who can go after the quarterback either from a standing position or with his hand on the ground. Ealy can get past the offensive tackle with his speed or by using his hands and has a variety of pass-rushing moves.
Dave:
Last year’s first round choice of center Travis Frederick had many people questioning Dallas’ drafting ability. Following another mediocre season, the team bid farewell to a good amount of their talent, but none so more impactful than DeMarcus Ware. The Cowboys need help nearly everywhere on defense so a safety like Calvin Pryor is in play, but Jerry Jones and co. opt for the most sensible first round pick in recent Cowboys history.
