The Philadelphia Eagles fan base has lost it. Maybe I don’t get it, I don’t live in Philadelphia, I don’t have the opportunity to visit Lincoln Financial Field every week, but I can assure you that I bleed green more than most. I am a PHILADELPHIA EAGLES fan. The passion that Eagles fan show is incredible, the Eagles expect greatness and while that is admirable, Eagles fans need to be realistic.
I eat, sleep and breath Philadelphia Eagles football. I want to win a Super Bowl so bad I can taste it. I believe we are closer than we have ever been as a franchise, yet if you look at a lot of the fan base, you would think this team was a losing franchise and headed no where but down hill.
I am so tired of ridiculous Eagles fans that don’t respect what we have as a team and as a franchise. I am tired of the negativity. I am tired of the criticism of our team. I am sooooooooo tired of our fans acting like we are the worst team in the league. I get it, Eagles fans want greatness, who doesn’t, but where do you draw the line?

I have heard and read so much negative commentary about Eagles quarterback Nick Foles in the last week that I could puke. If you are an Eagles fan you should believe in our players more. This franchise needs fans to stand behind our team, show support and respect what these players are doing.
Has Nick Foles has had a rough season, yes, I have no issues agreeing with you. I would like to bring to your attention that while Foles has had a down season, he has not had the benefit of a healthy offensive line or a running game. There is no way that any fan can say that Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has looked the same as he did last year.
McCoy is quick to break outside and quick to drop to avoid a hit. With “bad” quarterback play, no offensive line and no running game, the Eagles are still leading the NFC East and have a 6-2 record. McCoy isn’t McCoy and Eagles fans are ok to point out that its clearly because the offensive line has been beat up all season.
The same offensive line that isn’t helping McCoy, isn’t helping Foles. Eagles fans seem to easily forget that because Foles put up such an incredible season last year, last year was a once-in-a-lifetime season, that he is still young and he is still human. The season that Nick Foles had in 2013 might not ever be reproduced in the National Football League ever again.
At what point as a franchise do we fully support our team, in this case and more specifically, our quarterback? I would think it would be when a young, smart and accurate quarterback that has taken the reigns of the Eagles offense and led this team out of a dismal 4-12 season. I would think it would be when a very quality player, a guy that wants to do anything he can to be liked by a franchise and a guy that led the Eagles to a 10-6 record with one of the best statistical seasons ever in the NFL, but its not. Apparently that is not good enough for you.
Who cares if Nick Foles has thrown 10 interceptions this season? I asked that question knowing that everyone reading is probably saying “I do!” Throwing 10 interceptions in 8 games is not ideal but the team is still 6-2. Let me break that down, SIX – AND – TWO. As in we have won 6 games and lost 2 games. We were in a position to win the 2 games we lost, we could have won both of those games. Nick Foles didn’t lose the 2 games we lost. The 10 interceptions were not the reason we lost a couple games, our team and coaching lost us a couple games.
Do I like to see a quarterback that has made some bad decisions this year, heck no, I really loathe bad play, but I can take a step back and appreciate what I have as a fan. The Philadelphia Eagles have a great front office, an INCREDIBLE Head Coach, an outstanding offense and a defense that looks to be turning the corner.

This Eagles team is so bad when Nick Foles is playing quarterback that we currently rank 5th in passing and 8th in rushing in the NFL. Thats how bad Nick Foles is. He led this team to a 10-6 record last year and until he broke his collar bone, a 6-2 record this year. What a loser. He accepts responsibility for has game play and is genuinely embarrassed when he makes bad plays. How can we support a guy like that? Those 10 interceptions this year have really ruined this team, really brought the franchise down.
I absolutely hate the fact that I see a lot of Eagles “fans” are glad to see Nick Foles down. I realize that Mark Sanchez can do well in our offense, thats how good our Head Coach is, but when do we as a fan base fully support our team? When do we show our quarterback Nick Foles that no matter what, he is our guy?
If I were to tell you that I knew of a quarterback that could lead us away from our 4-12 season, take us to a collective 16-8 record after the abysmal season we had, a NFC East Championship (in place to win another I might add), a Playoff game and after the best statistical season of a NFL quarterback ever, he throws for 2,100 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Would you like that guy to lead your team?
Does one “below average” season for a guy who is still learning the game, yet had a season that Peyton Manning has never produced, mean that he is never capable of winning a Super Bowl? Does throwing 10 interceptions mean that Nick Foles is the equivalent to a bottom tier NFL quarterback and the Eagles should look to replace him as soon as possible? Does having a rough patch in your first year as the full time starter as an NFL quarterback while going 6-2 mean that you should be replaced?
Eagles
Eagles fans need to get their act together. As a franchise we are in a great place. Our Head Coach knows how to win with the players he has. He can coach anyone to play at a high level. Do a few players, Nick Foles included, need to playe better, yes! Absolutely, but does that mean we need to be looking at a new quarterback at this point in the season? Absolutely NOT.
The Philadelphia Eagles are currently tied for the 3rd best record in the NFL. We are tied with the Denver Broncos and the Detroit Lions. I personally believe the Lions are lucky to be at their record, but either way the Eagles are near the top of the NFL right now. We are ahead of the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks, we are ahead of the Aaron Rodgers led Green Bay Packers and we are right behind the 2nd, in the NFL, place New England Patriots.
Don’t forget the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and New York Giants are all looking up at our record. What more do you want?
Take a step back. Breathe. Believe in the players that have led you to be one of the best teams in the NFL and trust that even when those players might have tough times, they can succeed with this team. Quit calling for replacement players. Quit calling for backup quarterbacks when the starter is having a slightly down season and quit acting like this team is in position to draft in the top 5 next season.
This team is great. Nick Foles has helped us be great. Mark Sanchez will play great while he is starting but that doesn’t mean he won’t make mistakes, but while Foles is out, I will support Sanchez too.
Support our team, quit being ridiculous and lets keep winning.
