According to his first mock draft of the year, ESPN’s draft guru says the Eagles will select Marcus Peters (not another Marcus, please, unless it’s Mariota) with the 20th pick in the NFL draft. If you’re saying “who” you’re not alone. The kid was apparently kicked off the team at Washington, so with Chip valuing “culture” over “scheme” I can’t see this kid playing at the Linc on Sundays.
10) Title games revealing
You could learn a lot about winning in the NFL by watching the games on Sunday. Green Bay made some bizarre choices early and late, playing too conservatively for some in the first half, and then too aggressively later in the game (throwing on third downs instead of running the ball and the clock). They lost.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis did a bunch of fundamental things incorrectly. They dropped big passes, they tackled poorly and they blew assignments. They lost.
We often try to point to one thing as the reason for a win or loss in the NFL. In reality, it’s a combination of a great number of things teams do well or poorly. Green Bay and Indianapolis learned that the hard way.
