Conclusion

As you can tell by now, Western Kentucky cornerback Cam Thomas is someone the Eagles should certainly have on their radar. He brings it all to the table in terms of the size, skill and attitude you would want as a member of the team in Philadelphia. Sure he may not be the most technically sound player and that’s what he’ll get criticized for, but that’s all coach-able.

What you can’t coach is size. It’s rare that a player standing 6-2, 195 lbs. becomes available at the cornerback position, especially with the skills that Thomas possesses. Although he may not be ready to step in and start right away in some people’s eyes, he has the heart and determination to be the best player that he can be. That’s all a team can really ask for out of a young prospect.

A player can have all the talent in the world but if they don’t have the motivation and drive to bring their “hard hat and lunch pail” to work everyday, then it’s all for nothing. There’s no lack of motivation for Thomas and he would certainly fill an immediate need in Philadelphia.

Thomas is currently projected to be drafted somewhere on day three of the draft and if he’s available for the Eagles, they most certainly should give him a look. Even if he isn’t the player they want now in terms of being fundamentally ready, he has the size that you just can’t teach. Eventually Thomas will be able to put it all together and be a very talented cornerback at the next level, only time will tell when that will be though.
