Almost every Eagles’ fan knows that the team desperately needs help at cornerback. Many are focusing primarily on the big, lanky cornerbacks and missing out on some very talented prospects. It’s clear that Oregon State cornerback Steven Nelson is one of those players.

Forget about his size, the product on the field is all that matters. Nelson has proven time and time again that he can hold his own against almost any receiver in nearly any given situation. This cornerback class is full of question marks regarding character concerns and off the field issues, but the Eagles wouldn’t have to worry about that with Nelson.

He’s not only a talented player but has great character and would add to the already strong locker room in Philadelphia. Right now, Nelson is projected to go in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, according to CBS Sports. But depending on Nelson’s performance at the scouting combine, his draft stock could rise even higher.

Everyone knows by now that Eagles head coach Chip Kelly preaches “big people beat up little people” and all of that stuff. But if a player is talented enough to fix a gigantic need on your team, you take him 99.9% of the time. That may very well end up being the case with Oregon State cornerback Steven Nelson once the Eagles are on the clock during the 2015 NFL Draft.
