Miami defensive back Ladarius Gunter fits the bill as the “prototype” cornerback that every team is searching for these days. At 6-1, 200 lbs. and with 32-inch arms, Gunter has the size and length that makes scouts drool. Add his experience at both safety and cornerback and the sky may be the limit with him at the next level.

But one thing Gunter has to prove at the combine is that he has the speed to be a starting cornerback at the next level. That’s one of the biggest questions surrounding him as a prospect heading into the event. If he goes out on the field and runs a 4.4 40-yard dash, then his stock will surely rise.

Another question regarding Gunter’s game is his ability to locate the ball while his back is turned, which may scare off Eagles fans. They’ve gotten way too used to cornerbacks that can’t make a play on the ball when it is in the air, that may be the last thing they need to hear about a prospect at the position. But that’s coach-able and hopefully with some NFL level coaching, Gunter can put it all together and be a successful player at the next level.
