There may not be a prospect in the draft that I personally like more than Utah defensive back Eric Rowe. But enough about me, what about his fit with in Philadelphia? After officially weighing in at 6-0 and 204 lbs. at the Senior Bowl, it’s clear he has the size that the NFL is looking for in the secondary. But the question is where is Rowe better suited to play at the next level, cornerback or safety?

Rowe was a four-year starter at Utah but for the first three seasons of his collegiate career, he played primarily free safety. Then as a senior, Rowe made the switch to cornerback to fill the shoes of former Runnin’ Ute cornerback Keith McGill, who was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

With collegiate experience at both positions, Rowe brings the versatility and size that the Eagles look for in their secondary. Just look at current Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins for example, he was a standout cornerback in college at Ohio State and then made the switch to safety in the NFL. Rowe’s performance at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine will say a lot about where he should play in the NFL, that makes him a prospect for Eagles fans to keep a very close eye on at the event.
