Clemson University. Vic Beasley. 6. player. 30.
At 6′ 3″ and 246 pounds, Vic Beasley strikes you as one of many outside linebackers in the 2015 NFL draft. But this Clemson Tiger created a huge buzz at the 2015 NFL Combine. While most of the draft decision is based on film, his performance made many go back to game film and give it a second look. He has one of the best pure pass rusher resumes in the NFL draft and will give head coach <a href=. 7. player. 57. When the Chicago Bears hired new head coach John Fox , the conversion to a new 3-4 defense was already underway on sketch pads and blackboards. Many of the personnel on a 4-3 defense can migrate with relative ease to the new defense, with one exception: the nose tackle. And with their first round selection, the Bears acquire the services of a 6’2″ 339 pound built-to-play-nose-tackle in Shelton. Shelton has the ability to dominate the middle. He struggled to play sideline to sideline, but when facing runners who challenged between the tackles, he shows up. He does a nice job of clogging the middle and keeping blockers off linebackers. Truly a need, but thanks to the position, is one of the best players available to Chicago. And the phone rings.. DT. University of Washington. Danny Shelton

DT. University of Texas. Malcolm Brown. 8. player. 44.
The Atlanta Falcons begin the arduous task of rebuilding the defense by selecting the 6’2″ 319 pound Longhorn. Brown is a huge defender who challenges blockers at the point of attack, frequently requiring double teaming to neutralize. His size speed and handwork gives him the potential to fit into a number of defensive line slots. Atlanta will love having someone who can fit a number of needs for them, and will wait patiently for the draft to unfold before assembling their best defensive front. But you can be sure that Malcolm Brown will be in that starting mix.

31.
At number nine, the first offensive lineman comes off the board. At 6’5″ and 319 pounds, he has the size and build to play offensive tackle. However, his short list of pass blocking skills gives him a stronger chance of entering the NFL as an offensive guard. The New York Giants are in desperate need of both, and are only too happy to select a player who can deliver multiple roles on the offensive line as he matures and grows.. OG. University of Iowa. Brandon Scherff. 9. player

10. player. 51.
And with the tenth pick of the 2015 NFL draft, the Saint Louis Rams select Marcus Mariota, the 6’4″ 222 pound quarterback from the University of Oregon. Many analysts have claimed that the Rams are simply one quarterback away from a playoff run. With Mariota, they may have that quarterback. Despite being a “system” guy in college, Mariota’s intelligence and comprehension of football fundamentals will serve him well in the Rams offense, where he will be asked to simply move the chains and rely heavily upon a running game and a defense which have grown accustomed to having the game outcome on their shoulders.
No phone rings after this. Twitter traffic tests the network capacity. Chip Kelly did not get his guy…
.
