Maybe that is what Kelly sees in him. If he remains with the Eagles he’ll be starting behind one of the best offensive lines in the league. If Kelly can take a backup quarterback and make him a super star (Foles) and a washed up veteran quarterback and help him have the best season of his five year career (Sanchez) then maybe he can help Bradford make it to the next level.
Few fans see hope or a future in Bradford. In fact, there is a rumor his is part of a ploy to move up in the draft in an attempt to get Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota. Of course, the third team trade scenario has not been confirmed at this point. But it is a persistent theme though.
If he is part of a three team trade what would that look like? Rumor is the Titans want Bradford and are willing to trade their number two pick for him. This is nothing but a rumor on the internet and is in no way confirmed.
But on the other hand if the Eagles keep him, it seems like a bust in the making for Kelly on paper.
It’s a huge gamble for Kelly. Either he’s going to look like a genius after this if Bradford does well or Kelly will look like a goat and will be shamed back the college ranks.
Tomorrow we may know more about the trade. But for now, Sam Bradford is a Philadelphia Eagles quarterback. Maybe even the starter at this point.
