Matt Giraldi’s Prediction:
Byron Jones, Cornerback, Connecticut
Despite signing both Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond, I believe the Philadelphia Eagles are going to select cornerback Byron Jones from the University of Connecticut. Jones’ skill-set (played both corner and safety in college) coupled with his size (6-1, 199 pounds) is perfect for an NFL cornerback. Furthermore, Jones could thrive in defensive coordinator Billy Davis‘ defense that often leaves corners in man coverage. While this pick might not be as overwhelming as a trade that would land Marcus Mariota, it would certainly improve the Eagles’ secondary.
