1) Offensive Line

The Philadelphia Eagles offensive line should be a major concern. There is a real extreme lack of depth and unless there is a undrafted rookie that stands out in camp, I don’t see a solution. In saying that, i’m not gonna go full on Dallas Cowboys fan and say that the Eagles don’t have an O-line because thats far from the truth. The team actually has a very good line and has 3 players that are the best at their positions. Left tackle Jason Peters is still the best in the game, pro bowl center Jason Kelce is the most athletic lineman in the league, and third year right tackle Lane Johnson has shown flashes of being elite.

Even with the departure of Evan Mathis, the Philadelphia Eagles starting line is still one of the best in the NFL, but the depth behind them is scary thin. The team decided not to draft a single o-lineman which is still confusing. Now veterans like Andrew Gardner must step up, Gardner provides tackle/guard versatility and played ok last season but is still not the kind of depth you want. David Molk was up and down as the backup center last season but is pigeonholed to the center position. Dennis Kelly is still somehow on the team after 4 years of bad play, but saw action at guard and tackle as well. The team has recently signed guys like Jared Wheeler and John Moffitt but still need someone out of this bunch to produce. After these guys it’s a bunch of undrafted rookies that probably won’t make the team.

The depth along the offensive line is too thin for my liking and someone needs to step up. The starting group is one of the better units in the league, but as the team experienced last season, you can’t count on everyone staying healthy. The offensive line is the thinnest position on this Philadelphia Eagles roster. Lets hope for the best because things could get ugly if the depth doesn’t show up for the Philadelphia Eagles.
