Sam Bradford, Quarterback

It all starts and ends with the quarterback, the most important position in all of sports. The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t had a true franchise QB since the days of Donovan McNabb, and it has showed. The Eagles haven’t experienced any playoff success since McNabb. The Philadelphia Eagles and head coach Chip Kelly made a major move this summer in an effort to change that by sending Nick Foles and most notably a second round pick to St. Louis for Sam Bradford. We should all know the Sam Bradford story by now, two major knee injuries, hasn’t played in two years, injury prone. This may be the exact reason why Sam has struggled a bit through 5 games.

The best way to sum up Bradford this season is inconsistent. Through 5 games, Sam has made some pretty bad throws that make you want to pull your hair out, but yet still has throws that literally make your jaw drop in amazement. Sam has thrown for 1,281 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. Decent numbers at best. No doubt that Bradford has been disappointing, but it seems like Sam is getting better every game. In the last three games, Bradford has thrown for 721 yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Those numbers look more like the QB we were all expecting. Bradford’s play dictates how the team will perform. If Sam can continue to gel with the team and gain more confidence like he has been, then there’s a chance of this team being very good come December.
