Brock Osweiler, Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos drafted quarterback Brock Osweiler in the second round, 57th overall during the 2012 NFL Draft. He’s played in at least four games every season but unless you are a die-hard Broncos fan you may to have known that.

He filled in for Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning who was benched after throwing four interceptions on November 15, 2015 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Later in that week Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak announced Osweiler would start the following game due to an injury Manning suffered. That injury would keep him out of the lineup until Week 17.

Ostweiler started the rest of the regular season while Manning healed. Osweiler was benched in the regular season finale after throwing two interceptions and fumbling the ball. Manning came into the game and lead them to a 27 to 20 victory against the San Diego Chargers.

He played eight games in 2015. He completed 170 passes for 1,967 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions and a quarterback rating of 86.4. Not bad considering what little playtime he had beforehand.

The Broncos have themselves a quandary on their hands. If Manning starts or retires they will need a quarterback either way and it stands to reason they will try to sign him to an extension. But he may want to test the free agency waters.

He could be a decent fit for the Eagles. The numbers aren’t terrible and with the right coaching could improve.
