DeAndre Houston-Carson, S, William & Mary

The Eagles could have one of the better safety tandems in the NFL next season with Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod topping off their defense. However, you can never have enough depth at safety and Houston-Carson would provide that.

At 6’1″, 201 pounds, Houston-Carson brings very good size to the table. He is a former cornerback and has the skills and experience to be a reliable cover safety. Brings terrific instincts to the table. Recorded 10 interceptions in his four-year career with the Tribe. Not afraid to join in run defense and attack the play. Sure tackler with 293 career tackles at William & Mary. Also provides superb special teams ability.

Houston-Carson is a big, smart safety – he better be if he’s attending William & Mary. He’s a natural leader with good instincts and coverage skills, which are all solid indicators of success at the next level. The Eagles could use depth in the secondary and Houston-Carson would be a very good investment later in the draft.
