Lane Johnson

Once upon a time, Jason Peters was unquestionably the best offensive lineman on the Eagles. Maybe even in the NFL. However, Peters is 34 years old and is dealing with a degenerative back injury. In the very near future, the Eagles will need to replace Peters at left tackle and they will do so with Lane Johnson.

The Eagles drafted Johnson fourth overall in the 2013 NFL Draft and he has been a stud at right tackle ever since. Johnson is a mammoth of a man at 6’6″, 317 pounds, but despite his size, he is one of the more athletic offensive linemen in the NFL. Before permanently playing on the offensive line, Johnson was once a tight end, a defensive lineman and he even played some quarterback in high school.

The Eagles signed Johnson to a six-year, $63 million deal earlier this offseason. Johnson can play any position on the offensive line and that versatility has made him a valuable commodity to the Eagles.
