Cody Parkey

The Eagles’ former Pro Bowl kicker could be playing for a different team in 2016.

Originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 2014, the Eagles traded for Parkey before the season began. Parkey had a phenomenal rookie campaign, kicking close to 90 percent of his field goal attempts through the uprights.

Unfortunately, Parkey suffered a nasty groin injury while warming up for a Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets in 2015, which ultimately ended his season. The Eagles then signed former Miami Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis to take his place. Sturgis wasn’t nearly as efficient as Parkey was the year prior, but he may have a leg up(!) on Parkey going into training camp.

If Parkey is unable to fully recover from his groin injury, that may cause the Eagles to keep Sturgis as their kicker. If that happens, Parkey will likely find a home elsewhere.
